Rare coins are currently a hot topic.

Recently, the "rarest" 50p coin with "skyrocketing" value made headlines as people across the UK scramble to get their claws on the popular gem. Now it's not just rare coins which are all the rage right now as one man recently revealed.

Over on Instagram, Jordan Cox, known as @couponkiduk, who amassed 137,000 followers for his deal-sharing prowess, was surprised to learn certain coins can be arranged to form a pattern.

The money-saving expert, who regularly appears on ITV's This Morning, said: "I didn't know coins did this," while a voiceover in his video pointed out: "UK coins form a shield pattern, can you see it?"

In his post caption, Jordan expressed his astonishment: "I'm shook – and I've been a 'money expert' for 12 years. Find the right UK coins between 1p and 50p, and they can be arranged in a shield pattern.

"I post money saving reels tricks every week, check out my feed and follow for more!" The video quickly went viral, garnering thousands of likes and comments.

Some users humorously remarked on their own spending habits, with one saying: "My money isn't in my bank account long enough to check things like this."

Others were simply amazed, commenting: "Who knew?" and "I never notice that before..." A few, however, pointed out that this information wasn't exactly new.

One person was astounded, commenting: "Are people genuinely only discovering this now? That in itself is mind-blowing to me."

Another shared their experience: "I learned this on a tour of the Tower of London some years back and was equally astounded."
