Maruti Suzuki Breezes Past 2 Lakh Sales In A Single Month – Highest Ever

In October 2024, Maruti Suzuki reported total sales of 206,434 units, comprising 163,130 units sold domestically, 10,136 units supplied to Toyota, and 33,168 units exported. In the mini segment, which includes models like the Alto and S-Presso, Maruti sold 10,687 units, indicating a year-on-year decline of 26.6% compared to the 14,568 units sold in October 2023.
MSIL posted domestic sales of 65,948 units in the compact segment, which includes models like the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, and WagonR. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 18.2% compared to the 80,662 units sold in October 2023. Additionally, the Ciaz midsize sedan recorded sales of 659 units last month, down from 695 units in the same month last year, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 5.2%.
Despite declines in the compact and midsize segments, Maruti experienced notable growth in the Utility Vehicle category. In October 2024, sales of models including the Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, and XL6 totalled 70,644 units, up from 59,147 units, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 19.5%.

The Eeco recorded sales of 11,653 units, down from 12,975 units sold in the same month last year, reflecting a year-on-year decline of 10.2%. The Super Carry light commercial vehicle also experienced a slight dip, with 3,539 units sold, compared to 3,894 units in October 2023, marking a year-on-year decrease of 9.1%.
Maruti Suzuki maintained its strong partnership with Toyota, supplying 10,136 units last month, up from 5,325 units during the same period last year, resulting in an impressive year-on-year growth of 90.6%. This collaboration includes the supply of models such as the Ertiga, Baleno, and Fronx for rebadging. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki’s exports rose to 33,168 units in October 2024, compared to 21,951 units in the previous year, reflecting a substantial year-on-year increase of 51.1%.

The company has enjoyed a positive response to its recent launches and is gearing up for the debut of the new-generation Dzire this month. Following this introduction, the automaker is expected to debut a seven-seater variant of the Grand Vitara along with an all-new electric midsize SUV at the 2025 Auto Expo.
