Customers are being advised to check their kitchen cupboards and fridges after a number of food items were recalled from various supermarkets. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issues recalls for a variety of reasons, including when products contain allergens that are not disclosed on the packaging or if plastic is detected in the item.

When a product is recalled, for any reason, the FSA shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, as well as detailed information on why the item has been pulled from sale.

Tesco

Tesco is recalling 'Tesco Finest Six All Butter Pastry Mince Pies' because they may contain pieces of dried glue from packaging which makes them unsafe to eat, the Liverpool Echo reports.

Hain Daniels is recalling 'Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Toppers' because they may contain peanuts which are not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

This recall is linked to the wider issue of peanut contamination of mustard.
