Bristol Christmas Market 2024: Food and drink prices
by Ellie Kendall · BristolLiveThe 2024 Bristol Christmas Market opened last week and, already, crowds are flocking to explore all it has to offer - in particular, its vast selection of food and drink choices. From the known and loved German sausages and hot dogs, to a good old pint in the Jäger Barn Bar, and the ever famous Yorkshire Pudding Wrap - there's a lot to, quite literally, tuck into.
Before we get into what you can find while exploring the market this year, it's worth noting that some - but not all - of the food and drinks stalls (and stalls in general) are cash only this year. So it's worth making sure that you have all means of payment if you can, before you order.
Of course, being in the centre of Broadmead, the Christmas market is close to cash machines in case of emergencies. Starting with the savoury staples of the Bristol Christmas market, if you fancy a proper German-style hotdog you are looking at forking out between £7-£8.
The menu selection includes a traditional German pork Bratwurst, or a Krakauer (red pork sausage with bacon and cheese filling) for £7, or a Bratwurst Bavaria (German sausage with Sauerkraut topping), a Giant Beef Chilli (beef sausage with a hint of chilli), a Käsekrakauer (red pork sausage with bacon & cheese filling), and Currywurst (sliced German sausage and hot curry sauce) all for £8 each.
There are two hot dog spots situated at each end of the market - and right by the bars with seating, so you can enjoy it all without the fear of making a mess. Speaking of the bar, drinks are priced as follows:
- Premium Pilsner - £6 a pint, £3 a half pint
- Premium German Pilsner - £6.50, £3.25 a half
- Strawberry beer - £6 a pint, £3 a half
- Brothers Cider - £5
- Gluhwein - £5.50
- Mulled or Toffee Apple Cider - £5.50
- Red, white or rose wine - £5
- Prosecco - £5.50
- Standard mixer - £5
- Double mixer - £8
- Hot chocolate - £4.50
- Hot chocolate with Baileys - £6.50
- Soft drinks - £2.50
Inside the bar, you can hire out gondolas with food or drink for friends or family to enjoy, for £11. The bar also boasts a stall selling 'Tornado fries', a spiral shaped potato skewer with a selection of toppings to choose from - these are priced at £5. Meanwhile, there's also Smash Burgers (£8-£11) which includes as many free toppings as you like.

If you fancy a more traditional Christmas pork roll, there's a place for you in the market. Choose between a round roll (£9) and long roll (£10), then choose between original pork (no extra charge), or BBQ pork, honey pork, and Jack Daniels BBQ pork (an extra £1 each), all served with sage & onion stuffing and onions. Fancier still is 'The New Yorker', which consists of slow cooked beef brisket, cheese and sliced gherkins in a bap - priced at £12.
Then you can choose between the added extra of chips - grated cheese on chips (£5), hot cheese sauce on chips (£5), curry sauce on chips (£5), meat on chips (£12), or cheese and jalapeno on chips (£6).
Probably the most Christmassy of food stalls in Broadmead right now is the one famed for its Yorkshire Pudding Wraps, so much so that when Bristol Live visited on a busy Tuesday afternoon, a family had travelled all the way from Wells to enjoy one. These will set you back £12 each and you can choose between roast beef, pork, honey roast ham, or roast turkey, then select which vegetables and sauces you would like - all included in the price.
This stall also serves up rolls and baguettes - again you choose your meat, and all are served with or without stuffing and sauces. These range in price from £8-£10.
Then again, if you're after something entirely different, the 'Greek Taste' stall not only boasts some of the friendliest staff at the market, but also the likes of a halloumi wrap (£9), chicken gyros wrap (£10), chicken souvlaki wrap (£11), or lamb souvlaki wrap (£12), as well as a mixed souvlaki wrap (£15), a Greek salad box (£11) and even cheesy chips (£6). In January, after the Christmas market period, the team boasts a stall selling churros in Broadmead, too, making them quite literally a staple of the centre's market scene.
There's also a stall serving up noodles, Katsu, Chow Mein, gyoza, and the like, with prices ranging from £5.50-£8.50. Moving onto sweet treats, there's everything to be found at the market - from loaded cookie dough (priced between £7-£9) with a range of toppings to choose from.
Churros are also among the offerings, as is flavour fulls of fudge (£2.99 for Pick 'n' Mix), chocolate kisses (between £1.50-£16), and even pancakes by The Pancake Man - this team offers a mixture of sweet and savoury flavours, ranging between £6-9.50 (plus £1-£1.50 for additional toppings). Sweet crepes are also being made fresh, right before your very eyes - prices range from £6-£8 depending on flavours and toppings.
And no trip to a Christmas market would be complete without a festive hot chocolate. While you can also get some (even with added alcohol) in the bar areas, one stall allows you to choose between Belgian and Nutella chocolate, and then also choose your flavour - all drinks come with marshmallows, cream, sprinkles, a candy cane and gingerbread man - for £6 (though you'll be spending an extra £1 for oat, soya, or almond milk).
