Viral lash and beauty brand House of Amor opening 'immersive' store near Bristol

by · BristolLive

A Bristol mum who set up a beauty company after struggling to find time for salon visits is opening her first luxury store. Lucy Pearce founded House of Amor as a side hustle in her spare room in 2017 and has since grown the company into a multimillion pound turnover business.

Her breakthrough came in 2021 after she decided to invest £1,000 in a product called QuickLashes - a range of DIY lash extension kits that allow individuals to achieve salon-worthy results from home. The initial launch was a massive success, with the brand generating £21,000 worth of sales within the first six minutes. The products are now sold by major retailers including Superdrug, Debenhams and Justmylook.

Following the success of a pop-up shop, vending machines and click-and-collect orders, Lucy is now opening a luxury bricks-and-mortar store in Winford. She has spent £23,000 fitting out the space, which will sell all of House of Amor's collections, and has described it as an "immersive" experience.

“This is a major milestone for us as a brand and one I have always dreamt of,” said Lucy. “Our new flagship isn’t just about selling products, it’s about creating a space where our customers can fully immerse themselves in the House of Amor experience. We want this to be a destination, a place where people from Bristol and beyond can discover beauty in a way that’s both personal and unforgettable.

"We’ve always believed in creating beauty experiences that go beyond products, and this space is a testament to that. Our goal is to foster a community where customers can truly understand our brand, try our products, and walk away feeling confident and inspired.”

House of Amor's new store will also collaborate with other TikTok trending brands and will include a ‘What’s Trending?’ display - from limited-edition launches to cult-favourite products - in the shop.

The news comes just days after the company was shortlisted for two national awards. The brand’s products, the QuickLash Starter Kit and QuickNails Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps, were recognised at The Beauty Awards 2024. Winners will be announced at an award ceremony later this month.

House of Amor is hosting a store opening evening tomorrow, November 6, at Cattlemarket Business Park on Chew Road in Winford. Tickets to the event can be purchased on Eventbrite.
