The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) registration process will end on November 10, 2024 on the official website. Applicants who have still not applied for the same can check and apply for the internship on the official website, i.e., pminternship.mca.gov.inbefore any delays. As per the information,this 12-month programme aims to equip young people with practical skills to enhance their employability in the job market.

ABOUT THE PM INTERNSHIP SCHEME

The scheme was first announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during her Budget speech on July 23 and launched on October 3. PMIS is designed to be rolled out in two phases, with the goal of training 10 million young people over the next five years. The internship spans 12 months, with at least 50 percent of the programme dedicated to hands-on work experience.

Under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS), interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 for the entire 12-month programme.

This stipend is funded through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions from participating companies, with Rs 500 provided by the company and Rs 4,500 contributed by the government.

Additionally, interns will be given a one-time grant of Rs 6,000 to cover incidental expenses during the course of the internship.

Several prominent companies are offering internships under the PMIS, including Larsen & Toubro, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Max Life Insurance, and Eicher Motors, amongst others.

Internships are distributed across 745 districts in India, with the highest concentration in states like Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.
