Automotive giant BMW will have essential components manufactured in the State now. A new plant, to be established in Mandi Gobindgarh, will not only boost the region’s industrial output but also provide thousands of job opportunities, marking a key milestone in Punjab’s economic development.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, during a meeting with a delegation from Modren Automotives Limited, comprising Aditya Goyal, Suhail Goyal and Manish Bagga, on Monday, announced the government’s full support for the company’s expansion plans.

Modren Automotives, a leading Indian automotive manufacturer, has received approval to supply Differential Pinion Shafts to German luxury vehicles manufacturer BMW AG Munich, making them the first Indian company to achieve this. The project, valued at Rs 150 crore, will see the production of 2.5 million units for BMW at the new facility.

The new plant will house additional production lines for BMW components, bringing in fresh investments and generating more revenue for the state. The expansion will also facilitate future developments and testing of automotive parts at the same premises, further enhancing Punjab’s reputation as an industrial hub.

Expressing his pride, Chief Minister Mann highlighted the importance of this partnership. “It’s a matter of immense pride that Punjab will now be producing parts for a world-renowned brand like BMW. This will not only promote industrial growth but will also put Punjab on the global industrial map,” he said.

The plant will serve as a hub for future expansions and testing of automotive components, bringing in further investments and enhancing revenue for the state. The Chief Minister also committed to laying the foundation stone of the plant next month, ensuring the project moves forward swiftly.

Mann reiterated Punjab's commitment to creating a business-friendly environment, emphasizing the state's industrial harmony and investor-friendly policies. “Punjab is a land of opportunity, and companies from around the world are eager to invest here,” he added.

In addition to boosting the economy, the project will generate thousands of jobs, particularly for the youth, aligning with the state’s vision of fostering growth and development through large-scale industrial initiatives.
