After Bangladesh thrashed Papua New Guinea earlier on Thursday, the Tartan Army were aware that only a win would do if they wanted to extend their stay in the Middle-East.

Despite three of their opening batsmen making 25 runs or more, Oman were always struggling to set a target which had the potential to trouble their opponents.

Josh Davey was the pick of the Scotland bowlers, chipping in with 3-25 as Oman were all out for 122, and he was backed up by George Munsey taking the attack to the Oman bowlers at the start of their response.

While Munsey was caught for 20, Kyle Coetzer hit a blistering 41 from 28 balls, keeping his side well ahead of the run-rate at the halfway stage.

Matthew Cross (26*) and Richie Berrington (31*) eventually got Scotland home with 18 balls to spare, the latter hitting three sixes.

Scotland will now face fixtures with Afghanistan, India, New Zealand, Pakistan and the runners-up from Group A.
