Ireland have missed out on a place at the T20 World Cup after suffering an eight-wicket defeat to Namibia.

Having watched Scotland earn their spot in the Super 12 in impressive style, Ireland would have been motivated to follow the Tartan Army.

However, they squandered a strong start in their Group A decider, succumbing from 62-0 to 125-8 after Paul Stirling's explosive 38 from 24 balls.

When Namibia reached the halfway stage of their innings still requiring 77 runs, an unlikely victory for Ireland appeared to be on the cards.

That was until Gerhard Erasmus (53*) and David Wiese (28*) put on an unbeaten third-wicket stand of 53, hitting three sixes in the process.

Namibia eventually reached their target with nine balls to spare, marking a major disappointment for Ireland after their opening win over the Netherlands.
