The announcement by the Consulate comes merely days after violence disruption was orchestrated by anti-India extremists was seen when the Indian consulate had co-organised a consular camp outside the Hindi Sabha Temple in Brampton, near Toronto.

The announcement comes days after an incident of violent disruption by protestors carrying Khalistani flags at a consular event co-organised by the Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton and the Indian Consulate.

Days after a violent Khalistani mob stormed the premises of a Hindu temple in Canada's Brampton and attacked devotees, the Indian High Commission in Canada has decided to cancel some of the planned consular camps. The Indian Counsulate General in Toronto said that the Canadian authorities refused even "minimum security protection" for such camps.

Sikhs for Justice, a banned pro-Khalistani group, said they protested the presence of Indian officials who were there in the temple.
