Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has hit back at YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy for claiming his government obstructed his visit to Tirumala.

Tirupati Laddu row: Earlier, YSRCP chief Jagan Mogan Reddy had said he would visit the temple as part of the statewide temple rituals called for by the party to atone for the 'sin' allegedly committed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu through his allegations on Tirupati laddus.

Chandrababu Naidu slammed Jagan Mohan Reddy for claiming TDP-led government obstructed his visit to Tirumala temple, saying "He is spreading lies".

Sources close to Reddy confirmed that his visit to the hill shrine has been cancelled, but did not immediately divulge the reason behind the decision that came just a couple of hours before he was supposed to depart to the temple town.

Naidu emphasized the importance of respecting the temple’s traditions and denied claims that Reddy was being barred from entering.

Jagan Reddy said that Thirumana Tirupathi Devasthana (TTD) Executive Officer confirmed in September that adulterated ghee was not used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus.

The petitions have been filed before the Supreme Court by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman YV Subba Reddy.
