Kris Boyd slams Jadon Sancho and makes Man Utd vs Liverpool prediction

Kris Boyd has slammed new Manchester United signing Jadon Sancho for doing ‘absolutely nothing’ since he joined the club.

Sancho joined United for a fee of £73m from German giants Borussia Dortmund after being a part of England’s squad that reached the final of Euro 2020.

However, the 21-year-old has struggled since his arrival, having started just three of United’s first eight Premier League matches so far this campaign.

The Red Devils have won just three of their last eight matches in all competitions and go into Sunday’s game against Jurgen Klopp’s side in need of three points.

And former Scotland striker Boyd thinks they have could have a chance of doing just that, while also taking a dig at Sancho’s performance levels.

‘That front five could actually destroy Liverpool’s backline as well,’ he said.

‘So if Manchester United defend properly they’ve got a chance of winning the game. They’re world class players [the attackers].

‘For me, when you look at all the signings that have come in, Ronaldo’s the one who has come in had an impact. Sancho has come in and has done absolutely nothing, by the way. What was he, £70 or £80 million? It’s a lot of money.’

Last month, England boss Gareth Southgate was forced to defend the decision to pick Sancho for his recent squad to face Hungary and Andorra, despite the former Manchester City player’s club form.

‘There’s some adaptation to that, there’s a definite adaptation to the league, you’re not going to get the goals and assists numbers anywhere near in our league, that you are in the Bundesliga,’ he said.

‘Does he deserve to be in on these performances over the last few weeks? Well probably not. But I think we feel we have invested in Jadon over a period of time, we believe he can get to a high level.’
