All Galaxy S25 phones will use Snapdragon 8 Elite: Tipster

by · Android Headlines

According to one of the best-known tipsters around, Ice Universe, all Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphones will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite. He was quite clear in his X post, as he mentioned that Samsung Exynos 2500 and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 are out of the picture.

All Galaxy S25 phones are said to include the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor

We’ve been going back and forth on this, for a while now. One rumor said this, the other said that. Well, Ice Universe seems pretty confident in his information. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is the only SoC on the table for the Galaxy S25 series.

Now, TM Roh was present at the Snapdragon Summit in Hawaii. That alone confirmed that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will be used. Based on that, however, we did not know if it will be only the Galaxy S25 Ultra, or what was happening.

Based on this post, Exynos 2500 & Dimensity 9400 models won’t be a thing at all

This post from Ice Universe kind of clears things up. Considering that he specifically said that the Galaxy S25 series is not using the Exynos 2500 or MediaTek Dimensity 9400, that probably means that even users in Europe will get the Snapdragon 8 Elite models of all Galaxy S25 phones.

At this point in time, however, we’re not sure if a special version will be issued for Samsung or not. For the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung received the ‘Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy’. That was basically a special name for the overclocked version of the chip. Samsung had an exclusive on that overclocked variant for a while.

The Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra are all expected to arrive in Q1 next year. We’ve exclusively revealed the design of all those phones. They’ll likely launch in January, but nothing is set in stone just yet.
