AH Real Deal: Apple's M3 MacBook Air is $250 off for October Prime Day

For Amazon October Prime Day, the retailer is discounting the 13-inch M3 MacBook Air, making it just $849 today. That brings it back down to an all-time lowest price. Which we last saw during the last Prime Day in July. So if you missed out on that deal, you’ve got another chance to grab it for $250 off.

This is the latest generation of the MacBook Air that is available right now, as the M4 has not yet been put into any Macs – only the iPad Pro surprisingly. We aren’t expecting a massive bump in performance from M3 to M4, though, so that shouldn’t be a reason not to buy this today.

The MacBook Air is the most popular laptop on the planet. Why? Mostly for its weight. The MacBook Air is incredibly lightweight, weighing in at only 2.7 pounds, while also offering stellar battery life. Apple claims up to 18 hours of battery life, and honestly, that is pretty accurate. I had the M2 MacBook Air, and it would routinely last days off the charger at work. Which is pretty incredible since I use Chrome and not Safari (what Apple uses in their tests).

Additionally, the MacBook Air is built for Apple Intelligence, so you’ll get all of those AI features down the road when those finally do launch. This M3 chipset comes with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU. This makes it the fastest MacBook Air on the market – though it’s also the newest, so yeah.

Finally, the MacBook Air comes in four colors: Space Gray, Starlight, Silver, and Midnight. Apple has apparently worked on making these less fingerprint magnets – particularly the Midnight. Though they do still grab fingerprints, so you might want to get a skin for your laptop. Or do like the kids and put stickers all over it.
