New iPhone SE will launch early next year… with Face ID

by · Android Headlines

It seems like a new Apple iPhone SE is finally coming early next year. This information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who is usually a very accurate source of Apple-related information.

Next-gen iPhone SE is finally coming, and it will feature Face ID

He also said that an updated iPad Air is coming, along with some accessories. Let’s assume that “early next year” means in the first quarter of 2025. We still don’t know when exactly, though.

As many of you know, the next-gen iPhone SE has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. We’ve seen three iPhone SE models, with the latest one arriving in 2022. The last two models were based on a very dated iPhone 8 design.

This one will not be, that’s for sure. It will have a more modern design with Face ID included. It will allegedly be based on the iPhone 14 design. So you will get a display notch instead of a Dynamic Island, it would seem. So the rumors saying it will look like the iPhone 16 are inaccurate.

It will be based on the iPhone 14 design, but it will include only one camera on the back

Unlike the iPhone 14, however, the all-new iPhone SE is said to include a single camera on the back. An AMOLED display will be included for the first time in the iPhone SE series of smartphones.

The Apple A18 processor will likely fuel this smartphone, while Apple Intelligence features will be a part of the offering. This will also be the first iPhone SE model that will ship without a button below the display.

What will be a crucial detail when it comes to this phone’s sales is… its price tag. The iPhone SE 2022 was priced at $429. It remains to be seen if Apple will keep that price tag, or bump it up this time around. Chances are that the latter will happen, but we’ll see.

The new iPad Air will keep the same chassis, while the internals will be updated. The two models will feature 11 and 13-inch displays, though we still don’t know what chip(s) will be included. New keyboard accessories are also coming.
