UK tourists who order pints of beer at Tenerife bars and pubs 'warned'

UK tourists in Tenerife have been warned over rising beer prices in the European Union holiday hotspot. Holidaymakers heading to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, in Spain, for an autumn and winter getaway have been warned over rising lager prices.

Buddies Bar, which goes by tenerifecocktails on TikTok, confirmed that a pint at their establishment will set you back 2.50, euros. But if you fancy a Corona, be prepared to pay up to Є4.50 - a price the barmaid describes as "very expensive".

She said: "Still, Є2.50 a pint - that's about £2.10 for a nice, cold, fresh pint. Clean glass, clean lines, fresh barrels. Local pint, proper Canary Islands." In reply, a holidaymaker said: "Yeah, Є2.50 is exceptional value. I need to try this place, would like to sit on the roof terrace."

A second person enthused: "Love Dorada - see you in two weeks." And a third typed: "Lovely beer, and a good price too. Dorada is amazing." Another wrote: "Only last year you could get pints for Є1 but, going back a few times this year, it seems it's now averaging at Є2.

"It's not much, but it's a sign of what's to come in Tenerife I guess." Another said: "The beer is as good as it's looked after. IMO Dorada is a fine beer (drink it from a bottle rather than draught and you'll see how good it can be) Then you'll have something to compare to when you drink the draught.

"Personally, I find Tropical a terrible beer but that's just me. Interestingly, you'll notice a lot of the locals drinking Heineken/Amstel rather than the local stuff." Another wrote: "I see the beer snobs are out in force again, good luck with lining somebody else's pocket's, as the OP says, he's very happy with the local 1euro pints, cheers I'll drink to that"

"Lager snob here. I'd pay 3€ for a good beer rather than 1€ for a poor beer every time. In fact, if I see a bar offering beer at a Euro or 90c, I'll keep walking. How's that on your snobometer?" another asked.
