Liam Payne police storm Buenos Aires hotel demanding 'new intel'

Liam Payne police have stormed the hotel in Argentina where he died aged 31. Payne, 31, investigators are reportedly hunting for further information on employees of Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires after the ITV The X Factor star's tragic passing.

City Police are raiding the hotel for intel on employees who worked the day of his death. Sources close to the investigation told Us Weekly on Wednesday, October 23, that a raid was underway at the complex where he died.

The sources said police intended to identify Casa Sur staffers who had been working on the day of Payne’s death and in the days before. As part of their raid, they were seeking documents within the hotel’s registration books as well as information from its computers.

The insiders claim that “the hotel must provide” more security camera footage following the tragedy. The Argentine Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Us that Payne’s father, Geoff Payne, had spoken to the case’s prosecutor, Dr. Andres Esteban Madrea, about “his desire to investigate and to know what happened” with Liam.

Dad Geoff will remain in Argentina under “dynamic police custody until the end of the judicial proceedings and given his state of logical commotion due to the death of his son,” per the prosecutor’s office, US Weekly has reported.

According to Madrea, the office’s top priority is to preserve “the privacy of the family of the former member of the band One Direction.” Payne had multiple drugs in his system prior to his death at age 31, a recent report reveals.

A partial autopsy showed that Payne had “pink cocaine” — a recreational drug typically mixing methamphetamine, ketamine and MDMA — along with cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack in his system, according to a report published by ABC News on Monday, October 21. There was reportedly an aluminum pipe found in his hotel room as well.
