Great British Bake Off stars scream as Alison Hammond suffers nasty fall

by · Birmingham Live

Alison Hammond had viewers in a twist on the upcoming episode of The Great British Bake Off after taking not one, but two tumbles. The first incident raises alarm when she falls backwards off a kitchen countertop, landing with a heavy thud on the solid flooring below.

Audible gasps could be heard in the tent as she vanishes from view, leaving only her feet visible at the end of the counter. In an equally unexpected moment during the same Channel 4 episode celebrating 70s Week, Alison sprawls out on the grass following a mishap with a space-hopper, sending co-presenter Noel Fielding into fits of laughter.

The episode's excitement begins when Noel announces their aim for a "very serious, sophisticated show" in anticipation of the quarter-final next week, humorously banning disco balls and lava lamps just before Alison propels forward on the orange hopper exclaiming, "Yee har, ride the pony baby! " Noel can't resist joining in the fun and requests a go himself, right when Alison hits the deck.

After picking herself up and getting back to the competition tent, the bakers are engrossed in their technical challenge. However, screams fill the air as Alison, 49, unexpectedly topples backwards while attempting to pose casually on the edge of the worktop, asserting "I'm just going to add a little bit of happiness in here," only to lose her footing and flip upside down, reports the Mirror.

As Georgie exclaims, "She fell off," Alison, a mum-of-one, finds herself floored behind the counter, dazed. Attempting to brush it off with humour, she tells her colleagues, "Don't come over here," followed by a chuckle, "Leave me. Leave me with my shame."

Amused by the spectacle, Noel, unscathed himself, sprawls atop her and enthusiastically conveys his amusement: "Oh Alison! That's the best thing I've ever seen ever." A source from the show reassured that the host was uninjured, saying, "She was absolutely fine - the only thing Alison injured was her pride."

Witnessing the commotion, Illiyin responds with a simple "wow" while afterwards, Alison seeks to understand the mishap by mimicking her earlier actions. As she hobbles away, still in disbelief, she mutters under her breath, "What did I do wrong? ". In the eagerly anticipated episode, set to broadcast on Channel 4 at 8pm on Tuesday, viewers will discern which of the five remaining contestants advances to the quarter-finals, steadily approaching the grand final scheduled for November 26.

Currently, bookmakers are seeing a tight contest between Georgie Grasso, a mother of three, and Dylan Bachelet, the 20 year old shop assistant, both vying for the ultimate victory.
