Chris McCausland has opened up about the challenges he's facing on his 'Strictly Come Dancing journey revealing that it's "going to be difficult".

The stand-up comedian is currently strutting his stuff on the dance floor of the BBC One hit show with pro partner Dianne Buswell. The pair recently sailed through to week three of Strictly's landmark 20th series, where they delivered a lively jive to the Wayne's World theme for the programme's Movie Week extravaganza.

Despite their energetic performance earning them their highest score yeta commendable 30 out of 40, Chris confessed to experiencing a "wobble" due to the immense pressure.

In his latest column for The Telegraph, Chris shared: "Such is the pressure we place on ourselves for the Saturday show that I had a bit of a wobble and ended up convincing myself that I was destined for doom on national television and that I would be taking poor Dianne down with me."

He also highlighted the rejuvenating effects of rest, saying: "I will never again underestimate the power of a good night's sleep though, as a solid 10 hours that Friday night left me feeling like a new man by Saturday morning.", reports the Manchester Evening News.

Adding to the rollercoaster of emotions, Chris expressed his shock at receiving a seven from judge Craig Revel Horwood, with whom he shares a playful rivalry. Reflecting on this, he noted: "After my wobble on the Friday, to say I feel like I got away with it is an understatement. Last week was our highest score so far and we even got a , which is like a 12 from anybody else."

The celebrity shared with a chuckle, "We are improving, but so are my fellow contestants and so it's going to be difficult to remain in this competition for long. I will give it my all though, because I'm actually really enjoying this dancing lark but don't tell anybody that, I've got a reputation to uphold."

Meanwhile, Chris and Dianne are back practising their moves for the next live performance in the iconic ballroom, prepping a lively Salsa set to the tune of Men At Work's Down Under, gearing up for Saturday night's (October 12) show.

The trailblazing contestant, who stands as Strictly's inaugural blind participant at 47, humorously admitted, "We've been practising hard, and I've only dropped her seven times. So far anyway.."
