Hopeful UK weather maps have hinted an Iberian plume is on its way - bringing with it hopes of an “Indian Summer” and rising temperatures.

Data from WXCHARTS suggested temperatures will gradually increase across Britain over the weekend and into next week. According to the Mirror, next week's highs are expected to reach around 18C but the mercury could climb further as October progresses.

The warmest weather is forecast for the east of the country around East Anglia. Meanwhile, places such as Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester can anticipate highs between 16C and 18C.

Today, most of the UK will see temperatures rise, with highs of 12C expected across the nation. But things could get colder before they get better in the Midlands.

The Met Office forecast for Birmingham said this weekend was “feeling chilly with temperatures struggling for the time of year". The maximum temperature for Sunday was just 10C.

Scotland will experience cooler conditions, with highs of 11C overall, though Edinburgh may see temperatures peak at 15C. The border areas between Scotland and England are forecast to reach 17C, while Wales can expect temperatures between 15C and 17C.

Looking ahead, the Met Office long-range forecast for October 16-25 predicted rain for much of the country, especially in the west and southwest, before spreading to central and eastern areas. Despite the rainy outlook, the forecast also suggested "a drier and brighter interlude is probable with temperatures remaining "above average”.
