BBC Strictly Come Dancing star pulls out of show and viewers demand 'replacement'
by James Rodger, https://www.facebook.com/jamesrodgerjournalist · Birmingham LiveBBC Strictly Come Dancing fans have savaged the show for not installing a replacement beside JB Gill in the studio after Amy Dowden was rushed to hospital last week. Amy was whisked to hospital after a dramatic collapse while backstage on the BBC show.
Strictly Come Dancing presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman issued a health update on Amy as she was taken into see medics. She will miss this weekend's show, with Lauren Oakley set to step in and perform alongside JLS star JB.
Last weekend, JB was left on his own as the results were read out - and fans slammed the show over not replacing Amy. Taking to Twitter, now X, a fan fumed: "Did anyone else feel sorry for JB standing all on his own when they were announcing who was safe?

They could've at least got Karen to step in for are Amy at least." A second typed "JB standing on the stairs on his own is so sad, hopefully lovely Amy is okay." Another said: "I wish JB didn't have to stand by himself when the results were called out. Standing there is daunting in itself but standing there ALONE! What if he was in the Danceoff? Would Lauren or Karen have to step in last minute?"
"Happy to see Lauren dance but sad that Amy has to take a break for that to be possible. Wishing Amy well, rest up and drink plenty cups of tea love," another wrote. And another typed: "Hope everyone shows love and support for Lauren and JB!
"And hopefully Amy’s back soon. But she definitely needs to make sure she’s feeling 100% before dancing especially with what her body’s just been through." Another agreed, writing: "I'm wishing Amy very well as I'm sure we all are.
"I am sure she's getting great advice and care from doctors and from her family and friends and probably doesn't need unsolicited advice from strangers on the Internet."
