Strictly Come Dancing star Montell Douglas has revealed the trickiest part of being on the show.

Montell and her professional dance partner Johannes Radebe danced a Tango to One Night Only on the BBC show last week, but fans were left concerned during last week's performance as they feared Montell and Johannes were heading for an early exit.

Now, Montell has opened up about the hardest part of the show - and it isn't what you think. Speaking about how she struggles with wearing high heels for the performances and rehearsals, Montell admitted it was very tricky.

Montell and Johannes appeared on It Takes Two tonight

"It's really tricky because I'm just not used to it. You have to think choreography, dance and perform, where literally I'm holding on with my toes! I'm used to trainers, I live in them for the whole of my life. It's just finding the balance on these size 10 boots," she said.

Fans had been left concerned for Montell and Johannes last weekend - and worried a new 'curse' was about to strike.

Reacting to them being first on and thus potentially struggling with votes, one fan wrote: "#strictly I love Montell and Johannes but I am worried for them tonight." A second added: "Had to give all three of my votes to Montell and Johannes though! Feel so nervous for them as I felt they were slightly undermarked and also have the disadvantage of going first! #Strictly." (sic)

It ended up being Toyah and Neil who left the show this weekend, but with another couple set to leave this weekend, will the new 'curse' strike again? The contestants have all learned a new routine, which they will perform next week to stay in the competition.

Montell has been open about her struggles with the high heels and detailed the "pain" she is in every time she dances.

She previously told The Mirror: "The hardest thing is not the routine - it's the shoes! It’s doing it in a shoe that wants to break your foot. The shoe is designed to give you pain, which she does very well actually.

"Especially because I’m just not used to it. I’m living in high heels. It’s like a night out where you have to keep your heels on all night. That’s what it feels like."

Strictly: It Takes Two airs at 6.30pm on weekdays on BBC Two.
