Liam Payne police turn investigation 'towards Dove soap box'

Liam Payne police turn investigation 'towards Dove soap box'

by · Birmingham Live

Liam Payne police are focusing their investigation on a Dove soap box, it has been claimed. The ITV the X Factor star died aged 31 last Wednesday, in a fall from a third floor balcony in Buenos Aires in Argentina where he was staying while supporting former One Direction star Niall Horan on his tour.

Authorities are now investigating the possibility a hotel employee delivered drugs to Liam, which has them focusing on a Dove soap box found in the room, and seen very clearly in a photograph taken after Liam's deadly fall.

The box was on the same table where cops also found drugs and paraphernalia -- tinfoil used to ingest drugs, as well as white powder. TMZ reports police have a theory the soap box might have been used to secretly hand-off the drugs to Liam.

Cops have been looking into hotel employees for several days now -- with sources saying they've got one particular worker in their crosshairs for allegedly giving Liam the anti-anxiety medication they found. Initial investigations suggest that the musician was alone and experiencing a “breakdown” due to consumption of substances that have not yet been fully determined.

Following Payne’s death, police found substances in his hotel room, as well as several destroyed objects and furniture, according to the public prosecutors’ office. The former pop star had cocaine in his system, according to a preliminary toxicology report published by local press Monday and confirmed to the AP by a source familiar with the situation. Definitive results aren’t expected to be made public for several weeks.

Cops were also investigating whether that employee gave LP the cocaine, crack, ketamine, ecstasy and a form of crystal meth called "cristal". The singer’s father, Geoff Payne, is in Buenos Aires arranging the repatriation of his son’s body, which is expected to be released around 28 October.
