DWP issues November payment date update for people who claim benefits

The Department for Work and Pensions has issued a November payment date update as it prepares to issue more payments to people on benefits. As we head towards Christmas, the DWP has issued a key update for people expecting benefits in the penultimate month of the year.

Benefit and state pension payments are set to continue as normal in November despite the Labour Party government Budget and fiscal statement. Due to there being no Bank Holidays next month, payments will be operating "as normal".

The schedule for benefit payments, according to the DWP, includes attendance allowance –being paid usually every four weeks and carer’s allowance being usually paid weekly in advance or every four weeks. HMRC child benefit will be paid usually every four weeks, weekly for single parents or some benefits claimants while disability living allowance is paid usually every four weeks.

The DWP says employment and support allowance is paid usually every two weeks, income support usually every two weeks and jobseeker’s allowance usually every two weeks. DWP maternity allowance is paid every two or four weeks and pension credit usually every four weeks.

DWP personal independence payment (PIP) is paid usually every four weeks, tax credits paid every four weeks or weekly as well as universal credit which is paid every month. The DWP advises claimants to check the date on their award notice and bank account.

If the date is correct but the money has failed to arrive in a claimant’s account, they should then contact the appropriate helpline on the Government website. If there is a problem with pension payments, a helpline is available here on the DWP website.

State pensioners will also be paid as normal next month - with your payment date depending on the code on your accounts and payment documentation, DWP states.
