BBC Strictly Come Dancing star says 'he's single' after being pictured kissing famous face

Pete Wicks has insisted he is single despite kissing Maura Higgins at the ITV Pride of Britain Awards. The 35-year-old BBC Strictly Come Dancing star was spotted kissing Maura, the ITV Love Island legend, at the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday night.

But The Only Way Is Essex star Pete has declared: “I’m single.” It comes after a source said of the TOWIE favourite: “Pete did look cosy with Maura at points but he wasn’t shy about telling people he was single. He was proudly declaring himself single on the red carpet during interviews and even made a joke of not being in a relationship in the bar after the awards.”

In one post, Pete said in a caption on his social media channels: "It was on honour to work at @prideofbritain again…[Sam] and I are very fortunate to be able to do some of the things we do but last night is without doubt the most special evening of the year.

"It's a beautiful event with beautiful people and a humbling experience to be in a room with true hero's who deserve the spotlight not just for one night but every day. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees - see you next year."

Maura, meanwhile, posted snaps and typed: "A truly special evening." And in another post she wrote: "Dreamy hotel @themayfairtownhouse." It comes as Pete continues to compete on Strictly Come Dancing each and every weekend.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the professional dancer was quick to heap praise on her dance partner as she thanked fans for keeping them in another week.She wrote: "Thank you!!!! Thank you for all the love we received after yesterday's performance! It was a very special night for us.

"Having both our mothers and my little brother in the audience meant the world [heart emoji]."
