Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans 'fears career will end' and has taken drastic measure

Strictly Come Dancing contestant and Go Compare star Wynne Evans has revealed how he has started preparing for his career to "end" by stockpiling a certain type of food at home

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has admitted that he fills his cupboards at home with one food out of fear that his career is going to end.

As he spoke to the PR expert Rich Leigh on his The Starting Line Up podcast earlier this year, he revealed the bizarre decision. He said: "If you go into my cupboard, in there, there will be at least 50 tins of baked beans".

When questioned why he has adopted the strange habit, he confessed that it comes from a fear of his career ending: "Because I'm frightened that it's going to end and at least I'll know I have lots of beans free."

As the Go Compare singer elaborated slightly more, he explained that he has always had the 'fear' that it's going to end': "It's like my career is going to end, well I've got 50 tins of baked beans in the cupboard, that'll keep me going for a bit.

"That's the mind of a freelancer I think, the mind of a worrier. It's hard to enjoy the moment. When I think of some of the stuff I've done, not in an arrogant way, like Phantom of the Opera, it's the 25th anniversary, going to millions of cinemas worldwide and one of the biggest selling DVD's of all time (and) I was so full of anxiety when I was doing it I hated every single living second of it. It was just like why can't I enjoy those moments."

But, just last weekend the actor and singer became embroiled in controversy when Strictly viewers spotted him putting his hand around dance partner, Katya Jones' waist as she seemed to move it away. However, they have both since claimed that it was just an 'inside joke'.

Speaking to Strictly's, It Takes Two show, Katya completely denied feeling 'uncomforatble or offended' by what had happened as she spoke to host Fleur East: "The idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense, and those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. So hopefully this will be the end of it, and you just keep making me smile. I can't sit here watching this man being portrayed as someone he's not."

Wynne and Katya will be hoping to put the controversial last week behind them as they return to our screens this weekend as they vie to make it through to the next round.

After years performing as an opera singer, Wynne shot to fame for his role as the face of the iconic Go Compare adverts. In the following years, he has gone on to feature on Celebrity Master Chef and this years series of Strictly Come Dancing.
