Opera singer Wynne Evans, known for his Go Compare TV adverts fame, has spoken out about his relationship with Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones, emphasizing their strong connection. The 52-year-old brushed off the recent 'hand' incident during Saturday's live show that had viewers talking.

Following the episode, the duo took to social media to post a video where they seemed to be jokingly addressing a high-five snub rather than the more talked-about moment involving Wynne's hand and Katya's waist.

In a chat with the Daily Mail, Wynne opened up about their rapport: "She's almost 20 years younger than me, and she seems 20 years wiser than I am. We talk a lot about what's going on in life and what's going on in the world."

He reflected on personal growth through the experience, saying: "I suppose I've learned that I can only focus on myself. I can't control anything else around me. And I mean, I still not very good at that, but I can't control everything around me. I can only control what I'm doing and how I'm doing and how I'm performing and how I'm behaving, and that's all I can really focus on."

Wynne also mentioned that Katya has met his girlfriend and children, highlighting the effort both are putting into strengthening their partnership. Additionally, Katya is making trips to Cardiff for rehearsals to accommodate Wynne's radio show commitments, reports the Mirror.

He explained that their friendship had become stronger as he said: "She's met my children, she's met my girlfriend, she's met my brothers, my best mates, she's met all my friends. We had a big launch party in my house, and she met everybody then. They all have to say something about me so that she could get to know me better."

Strictly Come Dancing duo Katya Jones and Wynne Evans released a video on Instagram addressing concerned fans after Saturday's show, where Katya started by saying: "Hello everybody it's Wynne and Katya here. We just wanted to say we were just messing around in the Clauditorium on Saturday night and just want to say sorry. It was a silly joke."

Wynne then chimed in: "Yes, sorry."

Wynne further apologised in the caption, stating: "Apologies for this tonight we were just messing around. We really are amazing friends. The high 5's is a running joke. Have a great evening @katyajones."
