Liam Payne's behaviour before his death was derided by cruel trolls, who chided him as "cringe". During his time in Argentina, where the 31-year-old died in Buenos Aires, the former One Direction star was supporting fellow bandmate Niall Horan while he toured.

Wolverhampton star Liam was seen in a VIP box alongside the crowds at the Movistar Arena in the capital city. He was filmed clapping along and singing along to Summer Lovin' from the Grease soundtrack. He was wearing a dark denim jacket and plain white t-shirt.

But trolls savaged the clips on TikTok, while some have now said his behaviour was a "cry for help". One user in the comments section wrote: "This was a cry for help I'm sure of it." Another agreed and replied: "Finally now people are saying this but it's too late."

A third commented: "He wasn't stealing attention, he was saying goodbye." For five years Liam, 31, and Niall, 31, were two of the five members of the iconic X-Factor grown boyband One Direction. The band ‘went on hiatus’ in 2015 and have since embarked upon their solo careers, carving out paths of their own in their varying genres.

In 2022, Liam took part in the Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul and made some controversial comments about his former bandmates as he suggested that he and Louis Tomlinson ‘hated’ each during One Direction fame.

He also claimed that he was ‘thrown up against a wall’ by a fellow bandmate, and told them: "If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again." Additionally, he said of former bandmate Zayn Malik: "There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there’s many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side."

Niall is currently on an international and touring South America.
