Liverpool star Alisson posts worrying injury update on his Instagram account

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson missed the match against Bournemouth at the weekend.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been in fine form for the Reds this season, keeping three clean sheets in five matches this season.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot confirmed before the match that his first choice goalkeeper is facing injury issues and Caoimhin Kelleher will start in place of him.

Kelleher kept a clean sheet against Bournemouth and showed once again why he is one of the best back up goalkeepers in the world.

He made some fine saves against Bournemouth at Anfield and helped his side keep another clean sheet.

The Reds have now kept four clean sheets in five league matches this season, with the only goal they conceded coming against Nottingham Forest at Anfield.

Alisson has provided a worrying injury update by posting a picture of his Instagram account.

The goalkeeper posted a picture of himself, sitting in front of the TV with a medical device on his legs.

The device is basically used to circulate blood in the muscles, which can help the athletes to recover quickly from injuries.

It should be a huge cause of concern for the fans, who have received no update from the club about the severity of the injury suffered by Alisson.

Despite having a worthy second choice goalkeeper in Kelleher, they would want their first choice goalkeeper to return soon and take his place in the starting line up.

Liverpool will be in action in the league cup this week

During the midweek, the Reds will come up against Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham United side in the Carabao Cup.

Kelleher will start once again for the Premier League giants, which would have been the case even if Alisson was fit.

Slot is lucky to have two brilliant goalkeepers in his squad, with Kelleher even good enough to start for most of the Premier League teams.
