Chocoholics have a reason to celebrate as Lindt slashed the price of their indulgent Lindor Milk Chocolate Maxi Ball by 20%. This giant version of the classic Lindt Lindor Truffle ball contains 40 delicious truffles and is currently on offer on Amazon for £12, down from its original price of £14.99.

The tempting treat is also selling at the same discounted rate on the Lindt website, offering better value than Tesco's standard 500g pack priced at £12.50 when using a Clubcard. You can view the full deal here.

It makes the perfect festive treat for yourself over Christmas, but could equally make a great Christmas present for a loved one. Amazon customers were clearly impressed with the chocolaty treat, as evidenced by its impressive 4.7-star rating across 3,073 reviews.

One review read: "Great chocolates and these were a great price too. Less than the usual price of £15 and usually only at supermarkets at Christmas. The inside red tin had separated but it was easy enough to undo one end, lock it together again and twist up the end. I also added something extra into the tin ball before I put it back together. A nice gift."

A second shopper said: "How can you go wrong with a big ball filled with Lindor chocolates? I've purchased this a couple of times as gifts, and needless to say, the recipient has always been happy. There really isn't much to say about this product. If you've ever had or seen a Lindor ball before, the only way to describe this would be to say it's just a very big version of that!

"Inside, you'll find around 40 of these Lindor chocolates, unfortunately not as big as the wrapper. The actual packaging is a round ball that can open out into two halves, presumably one of the halves is to be used as a sharing bowl, but don't get you're hopes up, as I only got one chocolate! This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves Lindt chocolate, including yourself of course.", reports MyLondon.

Another reviewer said: "Purchased a few as Christmas gifts and they went down really well! A bit different to just giving a box and it worked out cheaper too (by gram vs a box)! Would purchase it again! " However, some shoppers were less impressed. One reviewer added: "I mean it's okay, the actual ball it could have been filled up slightly more than it was done. But it makes a great gift."
