Strictly Come Dancing audiences were left with tears of laughter as comedian Chris McCausland highlighted a quirky dilemma on this evening's programme. Returning to dance for the second week of the renowned BBC competition, the Liverpudlian took to the floor alongside his dancing partner Dianne Buswell.

Together, they performed a delightful Foxtrot to 'Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy'. At 47, Chris has become the first blind contestant to grace the Strictly stage, and spectators at home were utterly impressed by his remarkable talent.

However, as soon as their performance ended, Chris told Claudia Winkleman he was "unhappy" and that there was a "problem".

Claudia couldn't contain her laughter as she asked Chris about his feelings post-performance; he candidly admitted: "I'm not happy to be honest as they've put me on 10 minutes before the Liverpool game ends. That's half of Liverpool watching the football, that's half of my core voter group."

Despite his concerns over scheduling clashing with a Liverpool match, Chris delivered a stunning dance that wowed the judges and bagged him an impressive total of 29 points from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel Horwood, and Anton Du Beke.

Originally from West Derby, Chris has been making audiences laugh since 2003. Born with the genetic condition retinitis pigmentosa (RP), Chris lost his vision at the age of 22.

Eager fans on Twitter heaped praises on Chris, calling him a role model and expressing their desire for him to clinch this series title.

One fan tweeted: "Chris needs to win this, he's on the Bill Bailey arc of 'genuine beginner to joyful dancer'." (sic)

Chris joked he was unhappy as he was missing the Liverpool game

Another said: "Chris making me well up at the TV every week with pride", reports the Liverpool Echo.

A third added:: "I still get emotional when Chris last night said on Dianne's vid diaries that he feels left out when he's literally the SOUL of the show this series"

While someone else expressed their sentiments, stating: "Why do I always have a lump in my throat watching Chris dance? That was beautiful!"

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Sunday.
