Mike Tyson's bout with Jake Paul has already attracted all sorts of condemnation - and they haven't even stepped into the ring yet.

The anticipated bout, which will count against both fighters' records, will take place on November 15 at the 90,000-capacity AT&T Arena in Arlington, Texas. The event's original date of July was delayed when Tyson suffered from an unexpected ulcer outbreak weeks before.

Tyson, 58, was advised by his physician to stop training, which postponed the bout by four months. However, Tyson insists he is ready to take on the former YouTuber, citing that he is now "ulcer free" and, unlike the previous date, is on top of his diet and nutrition.

When the bout was cancelled, Paul came to Tyson's support, expressing how he "loves" and holds "so much respect" for 'Iron Mike' despite the obvious disappointment of having to postpone the bout. The pair do share a history with each other, as Paul entered the ring during the undercard of Tyson's come-back exhibition against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

After enhancing his credentials as a serious contender in the boxing world over several years, Paul initiated efforts to lure Tyson back into the ring. Their ongoing discussions began in late 2023, culminating in formally announcing their fight in March 2024.

Yet, when footage of Tyson partying emerged, not too long after he withdrew from their bout with his ulcer flare-up, Paul's manager revealed 'the Problem Child' was not happy.

He told the MMA Hour that P was "p*****" about the situation, especially after voicing his concern for 'The Baddest Man on the Planet'. He also added: "I thought he [Tyson] was injured, what's going on," when asked what his reaction to the footage of Tyson was.

The former heavyweight world champion has not directly addressed the apparent videos of him partying, but he did admit that he let his diet go astray. In an interview with the Daily Mail, he said: "I was doing too much bad food and stuff, and I got sick,".

The iconic Brooklyn fighter also acknowledged that he had been frequently vaping around that time but has cut down since. He mentioned he's steering clear of "processed foods" in preparation for their rescheduled clash.

With a staggering age gap of 31 years between Tyson and Paul, some people have voiced concerns that the fight is risking Tyson's life and may damage his legacy. 'Iron Mike' scoffed at those thoughts.

He added: "I didn't take this fight for legacy. I think legacy really, to my perspective, legacy is ego. Who gives a f*** how people think about them when they are gone? I'm dead. I can't value off what somebody might think about me when I'm dead, so it means nothing to me."
