Strictly Come Dancing's Nick Knowles has opened up about his latest injury setback.

The 62-year-old TV personality was gearing up to hit the dance floor for movie week alongside his professional partner Luba Mushtuk. However, due to a recent knee injury, the duo will be absent from this week's show, with hopes of returning to perform for their fans the following weekend.

In an exclusive video message shared on Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two, hosted by Janette Manrara, both Nick and Luba expressed disappointment yet remained hopeful. Nick explained to viewers: "So during our first dress rehearsal today, our run-through of the dance number on the stage, unfortunately, I damaged my knee and it's quite painful."

He continued, revealing the medical advice he received: "So the physios have decided that I need to go for an MRI."

Luba chimed in with support, saying: "Yeah, so unfortunately we'll not be dancing tomorrow but we really really hope that the knee will be better for the next week and yeah, we'll be back on the dance floor," reports the Mirror.

With optimism, Nick added: "Fingers crossed, we really hope we'll be back and see you all guys very soon."

Clutching his crutch, he declared: "Even if we have to glitter up the crutches, I am determined to get back and to try and dance for you next week."

The heartfelt video prompted a wave of support from fans on social media platform X. One viewer sympathised: "Oh my God it's not even Nick's arm that's sustained an injury it's his knee... poor guy."

Another fan wished him a quick recovery: "Get better soon Nick! Speedy recovery." Similarly, another comment read: "Aww get better soon Nick."

Nick and Luba were set to perform the Charleston to Rain On The Roof from Paddington 2 for movie week. However, Strictly's official Instagram page announced earlier in the day (October 4) that Nick's performance had been postponed due to injury.

The post stated: "As per the rules of the competition, Nick and Luba will receive a bye through to next week when he is hopefully able to dance again. Everyone at Strictly Come Dancing wishes Nick a speedy recovery."

This is not the first time Nick has been injured since the new season began in September. He previously hurt his arm and shoulder while changing a tyre, but was medically cleared to perform on the show last weekend.

Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday, October 5th at 6:25pm on BBC One.
