Strictly Come Dancing fans were left exclaiming 'this is not a drill' as they noticed more celebrities in the audience. Recently, the live studio audience has been garnering more attention from viewers than the dancing duos themselves.

The popular BBC One dance competition returned on Saturday night (October 12) for its fourth week, following an impressive Movie Week special last weekend.

The latest live show also marked the return of DIY SOS star Nick Knowles to the dancefloor, after he was unable to participate in last week's movie-themed special due to an injury.

He had injured his knee during rehearsals but was given the green light to dance by the medical and physio teams, the BBC confirmed on Friday (October 11).

Nick and his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk then performed their planned movie week routine, a Charleston to Rain On The Roof from the Paddington 2 soundtrack, reports the Manchester Evening News.

However, as the remaining 13 couples took to the floor, viewers were distracted when they spotted Ted Lasso star Trent Crimm in the audience.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer exclaimed: "NOT A DRILL: TRENT CRIMM IS IN THE AUDIENCE! #Strictly."

A third person tweeted in surprise: "Trent Crimm and Marcus from Slow Horses in the #Strictly audience? " @unetvlovergirl shared her excitement: "Oh its Trent Crimm, The Independent in the front row #strictly."

While a fourth social media user also chimed in: "TRENT CRIMM, THE INDEPENDENT NEXT TO HELEN SKELTON #strictly."
