Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left bewildered during Saturday night's show by what seemed to be a wardrobe faux pas.

Pete Wicks made his appearance on the stage donning a grey shirt paired with black trousers, his hair slicked back. Not long after, viewers saw Shayne Ward sporting an almost identical lookgrey shirt, black trousers, and similarly styled hairwhich caused some to do a double-take over the twinning ensembles.

Social media was abuzz with commentary, as one observer quipped on Twitter: "Why is shayne dressed as pete? #strictly", while another remarked: "Shayne and Pete look alike this week #Strictly! ". In a lighter vein, someone else tweeted: "me and my friend when we copy each others homework : #strictly", and another chimed in with: "Shayne there, seems to be morphing into Pete Wicks! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing #StrictlyComeDancing24 #SCD."

This upcoming Saturday, Shayne is set to glide across the floor with professional partner Nancy Xu performing an American Smooth to Sam Smith's "Get Here". Pete, alongside his dance partner Jowita Przysta, is preparing to sway to the rumba beats of "Don't Look Back In Anger" by Oasis.

The competition intensified following last weekend's departure of DIY SOS's Nick Knowles, who was the third celebrity to be voted off after a tense dance-off against former Coronation Street star Shayne. This elimination came as Nick re-entered the fray, having previously missed movie week due to a knee injury, reports the Mirror.

Nick, aged 62, and his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk scored a modest 21 out of 40 points from the judges for their Charleston to "Rain On The Roof" from "Paddington 2", placing them just above the bottom of the leaderboard last weekend.

Reflecting on his experience with host Tess Daly, Nick shared: "I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen."

He continued, "One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series."

An emotional Luba responded: "I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you."

Before Nick's departure, Toyah Willcox was the previous contestant to be voted off, and Tom Dean was the first celebrity to exit the competition.
