The Strictly Come Dabncing contestant and his dance partner Katya Jones issued an apology last weekend after a misjudged 'in-joke' went wrong

Strictly Come Dancing's Welsh contestant Wynne Evans has issued a six-word plea to fans as he prepares to take to the dancefloor for week five's live show - "Don’t forget to vote vote vote."

It comes after the opera star and his professional dance partner Katya Jones apologised to fans last weekend after a misjudged 'in-joke' backfired dramatically. Fans of the BBC show rushed to social media to comment on video clips that went viral - one that showed Katya apparently refusing to 'high five' Wynne and another featuring Wynne's hand wandering across her waist before she brushed it away.

Since then Wynne has said during an on-air chat with a Radio Wales colleague that he is "heartbroken" about the row over what he called a "misjudged" inside joke.

A week on, things don't appear to be getting any better as he's now received a last-minute blow ahead of week five's live show - the pair are among the favourites to be eliminated this weekend with odds of 9/2, according to Betfair Slingo. Paul Merson still tops the odds to go.

Just hours before the live show, Wynne posted a message on his official Instagram account saying: "Here we go it’s nearly showtime. Thanks for all the wonderful messages I’m certainly feeling love. Don’t forget to vote vote vote, love you all you’re amazing," as he shared the website voting link.

A third added: "Will definitely be voting for you, have the best time. Enjoy the full experience. Wynne to win xxx" And another said: "We're behind you Wynne and Katya, all the way!!! Go smash it!!!"

Also: "Go smash it Wynne! Glad you've seen all the messages and felt our love!! Rooting for you all the way." And another fan added: "The both of you have our full support! Smash it."
