Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans has claimed that he keeps his cupboards at home full with one food item in case his 'career ends'.

Chatting to PR expert Rich Leigh on his The Starting Line Up podcast, he explained his bizarre habit. "If you go into my cupboard, in there, there will be at least 50 tins of baked beans," he said.

When asked why he has the peculiar habit, the Carmarthen born opera singer replied: "Because I'm frightened that it's going to end and at least I'll know I have lots of beans free."

Explaining that his rather unusual decision isn't for in the event that there's an apocalypse as Rich Leigh first thought, but instead for the worry that his career is 'going to end'. He said: "It's like my career is going to end, well I've got 50 tins of baked beans in the cupboard, that'll keep me going for a bit.

"That's the mind of a freelancer I think, the mind of a worrier. It's hard to enjoy the moment. When I think of some of the stuff I've done, not in an arrogant way, like Phantom of the Opera, it's the 25th anniversary, going to millions of cinemas worldwide and one of the biggest selling DVD's of all time (and) I was so full of anxiety when I was doing it I hated every single living second of it. It was just like why can't I enjoy those moments."

But the face of Go Compare became entangled in controversy last Saturday (October 12) after being seen putting his hand around the waist of his dance partner Katya Jones, which she then seemed to move away. But since, then the pair have said that it was simply an 'inside joke'.

Speaking on Strictly's sister show, It Takes Two, Katya denied that she had been upset by the act "The idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense, and those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. So hopefully this will be the end of it, and you just keep making me smile. I can't sit here watching this man being portrayed as someone he's not."

After a controversy filled week, Wynne and Katya are set to take to the Strictly dance floor again this weekend as they hope to book their spot in the next round.

After performing as an opera singer, Wynne became a common feature on our TV screens thanks to his starring role on UK insurance comparison website Go Compare. Since then he has gone on to appear in Celebrity MasterChef and most recently Strictly Come Dancing.
