Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left disappointed during the results show.

On Sunday (October 20) evening, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman came back on our TV screens to announce which couple would be exiting the BBC contest after just five weeks.

Before Tess and Claudia could share who had been saved, gripes arose from viewers not pleased with a substantial shake-up of the show. Resorting to X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer expressed: "No opening number. Straight in to the results and recap. Sorry, I just don't like the new format AT ALL #Strictly."

Another commented: "Another week of not starting with the group number can they please go back to the old format it's just odd #strictly."

Welsh celebrity Wynne Evans and dance partner Katya Jones returned to the stage on Saturday night following the backlash of an "inside joke". An online video showed Wynne moving his hand along Katya's waist before she swiftly swatted it away.

Meanwhile, Katya clarified the action was not unwelcome and was misunderstood as more than their private jest. At that moment, Wynne conceded that the incident left him deeply upset.

He expressed his feelings earlier this week: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke. It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It has been totally misinterpreted."

Saturday night's show revealed Jamie and Michelle alongside Montell and Johannes topping the leaderboard, scoring a remarkable 39 points out of 40 each for their captivating Paso Doble and Couple's Choice routines. Chris and Dianne impressed with their Waltz earning them third place with 35 points, while Alijaz and Tasha's passionate Tango put them in fourth.

Close behind were Wynne and Katya, who took fifth place with their Quickstep. Paul and Karen found themselves at the lower end of the scale, managing only 19 out of 40 points for their Samba. Punam and Gorka's Viennese Waltz garnered them second from bottom with 21 points.

Meanwhile, Pete and Jowita's Rumba - accompanied by a low score from Craig placed them just above Sam and Nikita, who rounded up the lower tier with their Quickstep.
