Shane McGuigan believes that Tyson Fury would find it challenging to fight IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois.

The 'Gypsy King', was present at Wembley Stadium for the major heavyweight clash between 'DDD' and Anthony Joshua earlier this month, eyeing up a potential future opponent. Despite missing out on becoming the undisputed champion in February, with the titles going to Oleksandr Usyk by split-decision, Fury is gearing up for a rematch with the undefeated Ukrainian in December.

If Fury manages to defeat Usyk in their upcoming bout, he could face the difficult prospect of fighting Dubois in 2025 - should he aim to claim the title of undisputed champion. Dubois currently holds the IBF title after Usyk was stripped of it this summer, and should Fury secure Usyk's WBA (Super), WBO, WBC, and IBO belts, he will undoubtedly aim for DDD's title next.

However, McGuigan, who has trained notable fighters such as Dubois, Josh Taylor, Carl Frampton, David Haye, and George Groves, suggests that Fury might struggle with the challenge. In an interview with Seconds Out, when asked about a potential matchup between Dubois and Fury, McGuigan responded with: "I mean he's a lot better than Francis Ngannou.

"I think that Tyson Fury struggles with guys like physically very imposing people. You know, I've always fancied AJ to give him a good run for his money. And that's the thing about boxing - we don't quite know what the outcome is going to be. But when people can close the gap and they haul power in combination, then he's gonna struggle with it because he's good at sort of messing people about and slowing the pace down, and nicking rounds.

"And he boxed brilliantly against Usyk. Up until he got stunned and hurt he was in a good groove. But I just don't know. I don't know how he'll hold up with Daniel's power." Dubois stopped Joshua in the fifth round of their Wembley showdown earlier this month to retain his IBF heavyweight title, cool and composed from the opening bell.

Dubois caught AJ with a looping right hand which sent him tumbling in the first, but the Olympic gold-medallist made the count to see the second. Joshua was dropped again in the third by a hard left to send him on wobbly legs, but was saved by the bell as Dubois looked for the finish on the ropes.

Joshua was knocked down again in the fourth but made it back to his feet with ease, before the finish came in the fifth. Joshua backed Dubois up with a flush right, before following him into the corner with the smell of blood in his nose. With his hands low and swinging for the fences, AJ was caught with a solid right hand, sent to the canvas and unable to make it back to his feet.

The Manchester Evening News reports it's highly probable that AJ will face Dubois again in 2025 due to a contractual clause between the two fighters. The victor of this rematch is expected to challenge the winner of Fury vs Usyk for undisputed supremacy, following their own rematch this December. However, should both Fury and Joshua suffer defeat in their respective rematches, we might finally witness the much-anticipated heavyweight clash between these long-standing rivals.
