The bonus is paid in the run up to Christmas

DWP to pay extra cash into bank accounts of people on these benefits

Recipients of certain benefits, including Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), and Carer's Allowance, are set to receive a special bonus payment in the coming weeks. The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is issuing the Christmas Bonus, a £10 one-off tax-free payment, to provide a modest financial uplift during the costly festive season.

This automatic payment requires no application and will be deposited into eligible individuals' accounts in December.

For those who may not recognize the incoming funds or find themselves puzzled by it, it's likely the Christmas Bonus. Other benefits that make recipients eligible for this bonus encompass Carer Support Payment, Child Disability Payment, and Incapacity Benefit. Although the bonus offers some small relief, campaigners have criticized the unchanging amount, arguing for an increase due to inflation and rising living costs. The Government has maintained the rate at £10, which has remained constant over the years despite economic changes, reports Birmingham Live.

The Government explains: "The Christmas Bonus is a one-off tax-free £10 payment made before Christmas, paid to people who get certain benefits in the qualifying week. This is normally the first full week of December. You do not need to claim - you should get paid automatically."

They further clarified: "You must also get at least one of the following benefits in the 'qualifying week' - this is normally the first full week of December." These benefits are mentioned earlier in this article
