Giancarlo Stanton jolts life into listless Yankees offense to bring them one win from ALCS

· New York Post

Giancarlo Stanton might’ve delivered his signature Yankees moment on Wednesday night.

The slugger capped off a huge night with a go-ahead solo homer in the eighth to give the Yankees a 3-2 win in Game 3 of the ALDS, propelling them to a 2-1 series lead over the Royals in Kansas City.

Stanton drove in the game’s first run with an RBI double in the fourth, but his biggest shot came four innings later when he stepped in against lefty reliever Kris Bubic.

The designated hitter got into a 3-1 count and pounded a low-and-in slider 417 feet to left field, giving the Yankees back the lead they had relinquished in the fifth inning.

The Yankees’ bullpen shut the door, with Luke Weaver getting the final five outs.

The Bombers can now clinch an ALCS spot with a win on Thursday night.
