Lions’ Jameson Williams suspended for violating NFL PED policy

The Lions will be without one of their weapons for the next two games.

Jameson Williams is suspended for two games for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substances policy, Eric Woodyard of ESPN reported.

Williams told the reporter that he is disappointed with the situation but has “no choice but to take it on the chin.”

“I’m in good spirits just ready to get back with the my brothers ASAP soon as possible,” Williams added.

It was not immediately clear what substance Williams tested positive for.

Williams has 17 catches for 363 yards and three touchdowns so far this season, and his speed stretches out the field to give the rest of the offense more space to operate.

Williams was previously suspended for six games in 2023 for violating the league’s gambling policy by betting on other sports while at the team facility or hotel.

“It hit me out of the blue and it hit a couple other players around the league and on my team out of the blue,” Williams said at the time. “I wasn’t aware of this situation, but as it happened, like I said, I took it on the chin. I was ready to move forward as things moved on. I got the consequences. That’s been my whole plan moving forward from things, and just looking at the better days.”

Jameson wound up only missing three games as the suspension was later shortened when the NFL revised its gambling policy.
