Dodgers WAGs have blast celebrating World Series at Yankee Stadium
· New York PostThe Dodgers’ WAGs made sure to document the team’s World Series triumph at Yankee Stadium.
Los Angeles overcame a five-run deficit to beat the Yankees 7-6 in Game 5 to win it all at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night.
The players and their families celebrated on the field under a sea of yellow streamers and fog from machines on the stage, as seen in photos shared by Meghan Murphy, the girlfriend of pitcher Tyler Glasnow and Kristen Edman, the wife of utility player Tommy Edman.
The “Dodgers Wives” Instagram account showed the team’s biggest supporters posing together on the field under the scoreboard, which read “World Series Champions.”
Nicole Barnes, the wife of Dodgers catchers Austin Barnes, posted a cute snapshot with their young son sitting on the field.
“They really did that,” Molly O’Boyle, the fiancée of second baseman Gavin Lux, wrote, including a photo of the team posing for photos together.
McKenzie Buehler, Mary Keller Taylor and Cara Smith, the wives of pitcher Walker Buehler, utility player Chris Taylor and catcher Will Smith, respectively, shared postgame moments on social media.
Chelsea Freeman, the wife of first baseman Freddie Freeman, was speechless.
“Wow. No words. Just so dang proud. What a freaking Year!” she wrote, including a photo of Freeman being voted MVP of the Series.
Freeman, 35, blasted four home runs — including a game-winning grand slam in Game 1 — with 12 RBIs in the World Series.
An ankle injury limited Freeman in the NLDS and NLCS.
“Two weeks ago he could barely walk or run,” manager Dave Roberts said during an appearance on “SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt” after the game.
It was the Dodgers’ eighth World Series title, and their second in the last five seasons.
Los Angeles will celebrate with a parade on Friday after their 2020 championship celebration was limited due to COVID.
