Two arrested in Rosslare people smuggling investigation

Gardaí have opened a people smuggling investigation after two men were found hiding in a van travelling on a ferry arriving at Rosslare Europort.

The men were discovered by the ship's crew during the sailing and gardaí were alerted before it arrived in Co Wexford.

Both were in good health and received "any necessary State supports", gardaí said.

The driver and passenger of the van, both men in their 30s, were arrested.

They were later released without charge, pending further investigations and the preparation of a file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
