RTÉ postpones new season of Fittest Family after death

The first episode of the new season of Ireland's Fittest Family has been postponed following the death of one of its participants. The episode was originally scheduled to air this Sunday evening.

In a statement, RTÉ confirmed that the decision to delay the broadcast was made after a participant passed away following the completion of filming.

"RTÉ and Kite/Animo productions wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the bereaved family and friends at this time. Further details regarding the broadcast of the series will be provided in due course," the statement said.

The upcoming season, hosted by Laura Fox, will also feature coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary, Donncha O’Callaghan and Sonia O’Sullivan.
