‘Virgin River’ Renewed for Season 7 at Netflix

Virgin River” keeps on flowing.

Netflix has renewed the romantic drama series for a seventh season, nearly two months before the Dec. 19 premiere of Season 6. The cast made the announcement on the “Virgin River” Instagram page.

Patrick Sean Smith, whose credits also include “Greek” and “Chasing Life,” returns as showrunner for another 10 hour-long episodes.

“Virgin River” follows nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) as she moves from Los Angeles to the remote California town of Virgin River in search of a fresh start. She soon realizes that living in a small town isn’t as simple as she thought it was.

Season 6 is set against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s (Martin Henderson) romantic spring wedding season. Per Netflix, it “promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past, which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.”

“Virgin River” is based on the novel series by Robyn Carr, which contains more than 20 books that have together sold more than 13 million copies.

Alongisde Breckenridge and Henderson are series regulars Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure and Mark Ghanime.

Directors for Season 6 are Martin Wood, Rama Rau, Felipe Rodriguez, Henderson and Monika Mitchell.

Executive producers include showrunner Smith, Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Robyn Carr, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith and Jennifer Monroe. Ian Hay, Thomas Ian Griffith, Mary Page Keller and Jackson Sinder are co-executive producers.
