by · Variety

Netflix has given an early Season 3 renewal to its hit actioner “The Night Agent,” in advance of the show’s second season return in Winter 2025. The series, from Sony Pictures Television, is set to begin a production unit in Istanbul at the end of the year, and then will turn its attention back to filming in New York in 2025.

The streamer announced the additional pickup while sharing first-look images for “The Night Agent” Season 2. Gabriel Basso stars in the series, which comes from creator Shawn Ryan (“The Shield”) and is based on the novel by Matthew Quirk.

In Season 1, low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Basso) helped save the U.S. President’s life, earning him the chance to become a Night Agent. Per Netflix’s logline, in Season 2, “working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.”
