Jermaine Jenas makes shock return to TV presenting as new role revealed

Jermaine Jenas was spotted at Arsenal's blockbuster clash with Liverpool on Sunday, marking his first public outing since his BBC dismissal. The ex-Tottenham and England star, aged 41, faced the axe in August after a controversy involving inappropriate messages to female colleagues.

Since then, Jenas has maintained a low profile, although he did take to Instagram last month to express gratitude for the support received and tease a potential media comeback. At the Emirates Stadium, Jenas was seen contributing to an international TV broadcast of the high-stakes Premier League match.

It is understood Jenas is working for Astro, a Malaysian Premier League provider. He is appearing alongside former Arsenal duo Martin Keown and Henri Lansbury.

After hanging up his boots, Jenas had smoothly transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a familiar face on BBC's Match of the Day and co-hosting The One Show. He was once even considered a possible heir to Gary Lineker for the MOTD presenting role.

However, following the incident, a BBC spokesperson confirmed in August: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up."

Additionally, Jenas has been known for his work with TNT Sports on their Premier League coverage, though he hasn't featured there since his departure from the BBC, reports the Mirror. Jenas has hinted at a new venture on the horizon in a recent social media video.

Reflecting on his current situation, he said: "There's some exciting stuff that I've been working on. So hopefully you'll have that to look forward to very soon. And hopefully I'll be back just talking about what I love really, which is football. I've been living the life of those Spurs fans who've been up and down and up and down."

He also commented on Nottingham Forest's performance, saying: "Forest got a great result up at Anfield and have been playing well. So I've been watching but I'm looking forward to kind of getting back and just talking about what I love most. So last of all, thank you very much and, yeah, I'll see you soon."
