Chelsea next five fixtures compared to Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal after Panathinaikos win

by · football.london

Enzo Maresca only has a day or two, at most, on the training pitches at Cobham before Chelsea return to action. The Blues will lock horns with Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon as both teams strive to climb the Premier League table.

Chelsea head into that fixture after a 4-1 win on the road to Panathinaikos, in the Conference League, while the Magpies have enjoyed a couple days rest after a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Brighton. Just three points separate the west Londoners in sixth from Aston Villa in fourth.

As for Eddie Howe's side, they've somewhat struggled so far, but a run of good results would quickly change the complexion of their season. So, with that being said, footbal.london have looked at Chelsea's upcoming fixtures, and how they compare to their rivals;

Newcastle United (H) - Premier League - Sunday, October 27

Fortunately for Chelsea, they've been inked in to play Newcastle on a Sunday. That being said, though, Maresca is expected to continue making wholesale changes on the European and domestic stage.

Newcastle United (A) - Carabao Cup - Wednesday, October 30

One for sorrow, two for joy... For the second time in just a few days, Chelsea will meet the Magpies. Mauricio Pochettino led the Blues to the final of this competition last season, losing to Liverpool at Wembley Stadium.

Manchester United (A) - Premier League - Sunday, November 3

Chelsea will be hoping that Erik ten Hag is still head coach next month. Manchester United have continued to struggle under his stewardship - while the under-pressure Dutchman faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Noah (H) - Conference League - Thursday, November 7

After back-to-back clashes on the road, Chelsea are finally back on home turf. The Blues will be expected to ease past the Armenian outfit - and those who play will be hoping to impress and force themselves into Maresca's side for the following London derby.

Arsenal (H) - Premier League - Sunday, November 10

Chelsea have previously shown great promise against Manchester City and Liverpool already this season, so Maresca will be looking to finally take three points from the title contenders. This is also the Blues' final game before November's international break.
