'Are we ready?' - Liverpool star sends clear title race warning to Arsenal

by · football.london

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher has issued a warning to Arsenal ahead of the Premier League clash in North London.

The Gunners will host the Merseyside club at the Emirates Stadium as they look to return to winning ways in the top flight. Mikel Arteta will go into the game with some key players on the sidelines.

William Saliba is sidelined through suspension following a red card against Bournemouth last week. Martin Odegaard has been ruled out with an ankle injury, while Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are unavailable.

There are also question marks over the fitness of Bukayo Saka, Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber going into the clash against Liverpool. Liverpool have won 11 of their 12 matches in all competitions this season under new head coach Arne Slot.

Kelleher has outlined the confidence that the Merseyside club have going into the contest against Arsenal. The Republic of Ireland international is set to start in goal for Liverpool, with Alisson Becker sidelined with a hamstring injury. Kelleher acknowledged the quality of the Gunners but went on to issue a warning to Mikel Arteta's team.

"Are we ready? Yes, of course," Kelleher told the Liverpool Echo. "I will always back the team. I know the quality we have.

"It is going to be a tough game, obviously, going to the Emirates, it is not easy at all but we will do our best to be as well prepared as we can and we will give it a good go.

"It is early days in the title race but it is still a massive game. We did not get the best result there last season and we will be looking to do better this time. It will be really tough, and we need to be prepared."
